An Orchestra in the Middle of Desert

For the Spring of Culture 2017, Nass the Group and Nass Corporation brings you an unique concert ‘Nocturne for Pit Orchestra’ in collaboration with The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Red Bull Music Academy and Al Riwaq.

For the very first time The Bahrain National Quarry is being opened to the public for this unique event.

â€˜Nocturne for Pit Orchestra’ is a live performance especially conceived for the site, involving the quarry’s laborers as performers. A polyphonic orchestra, where vocals and processed sounds navigate between dissonance and harmony.

It is an experimental event, taking place in an active construction site managed by Nass Asphalt, a division of Nass Corporation B.S.C. The “singers” of this concert are the very same Nass Asphalt employees, executing the site works in the daytime, and now trained to chorus for this one night. The Bahrain National Quarry is operated and Administered by Nass Asphalt.

Nass Asphalt team has also been working rigorously for months preparing the quarry to be accessed by public; this includes improvement of roads, provision of lights, security and buses into the quarry.

A project by Ilaria Lupo in collaboration with Rabih Beaini, with the participation of Hasan Hujairi will be performed at the Bahrain National Quarry, next to the Tree of Life on the 9th of March 2017.

Seating starts at 6:30pm and the performance begins at 8pm.
