Oman’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has called on investors and business owners in its various industrial cities, Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) and Al Mazunah Free Zone to take all necessary precautions and measures to ensure business continuity in the next two weeks.
Madayn has circulated a statement in this regard in line with the decisions issued on July 21, 2020 by the Supreme Committee for Dealing with Covid-19 to lock down the sultanate’s governorates during the period from July 25 to August 8, while preventing movement and closing all public places and shops from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am during the lockdown with intensified patrols, a statement said.
The statement emphasises the necessity of ensuring implementation of the precautionary measures in the factories and industrial units to limit the spread of the virus; providing and storing all the necessities of the companies and factories (raw materials, packaging materials, food and medical supplies, etc.), and ensuring that these necessities are delivered to the industrial units within the industrial cities before the aforementioned lockdown period.
The statement also stresses the need of providing accommodation for the workers, ensuring there is no movement of workers during the lockdown period, assuring that the entrance and exit of workers are in line with the indicated lockdown period, and ensuring that the workers are not accommodated inside the factories and industrial units.
It is worth mentioning that Madayn will continue its field visits to the industrial units during the lockdown period to follow up the implementation of health requirements and precautionary measures. Madayn Emergency Room will also continue receiving coronavirus related enquiries and complaints through 24449685 or via WhatsApp: 92389609, it said. -TradeArabia News Service
