Oman's Sohar International to boost travel takaful products

Sohar International has partnered with Takaful Oman Insurance to expand its portfolio to include a range of Travel Takaful products offered to customers with competitive rates and privileges. 
 
Alongside other insurance products including health, home, life and personal accident, the travel takaful provides comprehensive coverage, including Covid-19 cover for travellers on international flights. 
 
Both citizens and residents of Oman are eligible to enroll in these plans with swift and easy processing, said the statement from Sohar International.
 
With a host of benefits, its comprehensive Travel Takaful offers customers with affordable and practical Travel Takaful Policy including multiple geographical coverage options with emergency medical assistance and expenses up to $1 million. 
 
The Covid-19 cover can be extended for all plans at just an additional cost of 10% of the total contribution amount if required. 
 
Catering to the various customer requirements, the cover is packaged in three different plans; each with its set of features and benefits including single and annual multi-trips, travel coverage of up to two years, subject to the covered member being eligible for the services of this plan when he/she travels outside the home country of usual country of residence for period not exceeding 90 consecutive days per trip, said the statement.
 
The eligibility age is up to 70 years and can be extended up to 80 years subject to additional contribution, it added.

While the plan covers medical expenses incurred during hospitalization and quarantine protocols associated with Covid-19, it also provisions for various other requirements that may arise. 
 
It includes costs associated with the arrangement and payment of emergency medical evacuation, repatriation and transport of mortal remains. It also extends its cover to ensure that the costs related to arrangement and payment of compassionate visits, return of minor children and convalescence expenses are taken care of.
