Oman’s premium shopping destination Mall of Muscat has partnered with Electric Vehicles One (EVO), the sultanate’s leading provider of EV charging solutions, to install 22kw chargers.

This initiative is aimed at energising the expanding electric vehicle community in the country, reinforcing both organisations' commitment to a more sustainable future, said a statement from Mall of Muscat.

As part of the collaboration, a pair of advanced 22kw chargers are now operational in a specially designated area for electric vehicle charging within the mall. Plans are being developed to expand the range of charging stations available in the mall’s parking area soon.

Sustainability is an integral part of Mall of Muscat’s ethos, and it recognises the critical role it can play in promoting a greener, more sustainable future for Oman.

From using energy-efficient systems to encouraging eco-friendly practices among its tenants/renters, Mall of Muscat is persistently striving to minimise its environmental footprint.

Now by offering sustainable mobility options such as designated electric vehicle charging areas in its car park, Mall of Muscat aims to be a sustainability leader in the retail sector and make a significant contribution to wider environmental efforts across Oman.

"We are happy to contribute meaningfully to the broader green initiatives taking shape across the country and enhancing our visitor experience. Partnering with EVO, a pioneer in the green transition, aligns perfectly with our mission," said a spokesperson for the mall.

EVO’s extensive network of more than 80 charging stations nationwide is now enhanced by the Mall's own charging facilities. This collaboration is a testament to its ongoing commitment to promote sustainable mobility and environmental responsibility.

A spokesman for EVO said: "Mall of Muscat stands out for its exceptional shopping and entertainment offerings, as well as its dedication to sustainability. Collaborating with them on this green initiative is a perfect fit."

"This partnership underscores our commitment to delivering high-quality services to visitors and aligns seamlessly with Oman’s 2050 Net Zero goals," he stated.

Incorporating an expanse of approximately 200,000 square meters and providing more than 3000 parking spaces, the Mall boasts a substantial area.

Beyond its shopping allure, it offers a host of family-centric attractions, including a cinema, an entertainment zone, and other engaging features, said the spokesman.

Remarkably, it also hosts the Oman Aquarium, the largest and only public aquarium within the sultanate, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
