CONSTRUCTION NEWS

Khazaen Economic City (KEC), the master developer of the first integrated economic city in northern Oman, has announced plans to build a state-of-the-art central fruits and vegetables market on a 430,000-sq-m area in the new city, said a report.

Khazaen Central Fruits & Vegetables market will include shaded and air-conditioned areas for wholesale outlets and retail shops, reported Oman Observer.

The Omani developer is seeking proposals from local and international private sector firms to design, build, finance and operate the proposed market in Khazaen.

The market will provide world-class infrastructure and facilities and adopt best international practices in infrastructure development, storage, packaging, handling, transportation, parking and value-added services, it stated.

Colliers International, a top-tier global real estate services and investment management company, has been roped in to market the project to regional and international developers, operators and investors, the report added.
