Oman Air has announced a major network expansion in its summer schedule adding four new destinations - Chittagong (Bangladesh), Maldives as well as Indian cities of Lucknow and Thiruvananthapuram.

This comes as part of its ambitious and dynamic strategy of fleet and network expansion, said Oman Air in its statement.

The schedule specifies significant frequency increases on existing routes, and the addition of four destinations- thus representing a 60% increase in the number of flights from its hub in Muscat compared to the previous year, it stated.

This will provide the market with approximately 60,000 more seats weekly across its network and provide greater convenience and connectivity for Oman Air guests.

On its new destinations, Oman Air said four-weekly flights will operate on Muscat-Chittagong route starting from next month; while those to Maldives will be launched in June in addition to 12 weekly flights to Lucknow and five-weekly flights to Thiruvananthapuram starting from August, said a company spokesman.

"The expanded network and schedule for 2023 demonstrates Oman Air's ongoing efforts to contribute to the economy of the sultanate while also exhibiting its drive for increased global reach through its award-wining services and products, along with its signature Omani hospitality both in the air and on the ground.-TradeArabia News Service
